dc.description.abstract | A simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been described in the present work. The method is based on the diazotisation of mosapride with nitrous acid followed by its coupling in situ with phloroglucinol to yield a yellow coloured species exhibiting absorption maximum at 434 nm and obeying Beer's law in the concentration range of 2-10 ?g/mL. The results of analysis for the method have been validated statistically and by recovery studies. The proposed method is simple, sensitive, selective and economical for the quantitative determination of mosapride in bulk drug and pharmaceutical formulations (tablets). The results are compared with those obtained using UV spectrophotometric method in alcohol at 272 nm. | en_US |
