Sebacic acid dihydrazide on heating with ethylcyanoacetate/acetyl acetone/ethyl acetoacetate, yielded 1,8-bis (3-amino-4-dihydropyrazol-5-one-1-yl) octane (II), 1,8-bis(3,5-dimethyl pyrazol-1-yl) octane (III) and 1,8-bis(3-methyl pyrazoline-5-one-1-yl) octanes (IV) respectively. The compound (IV) on reacting with various aromatic aldehydes afforded respective 1,8-bis (3-methyl-4-arylidenepyrazol-5-one-1-yl) octanes (Va-p). These on reacting with thiourea yielded 1,8-bis (3-methyl-4-substituted phenyl-6-imino-4,7-dihydro-1,3-thiazino [4,5-d] pyrazol-1-1yl) octanes (VIa-p). The structures of the newly synthesized compounds have been established on the basis of elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectal data.en_US
