Several new 3,5-disubstituted-2-(1'-phenyl-5'-thioalkyl-s-triazol-2'-yl) indoles (IVa-t) and 3,5-disubstituted-2-(1 '-substitutedaminomethyl-4-phenyl-5'- (4'H)-thione-s-triazol-3'-yl) indoles (Va-x) were synthesized. All the synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, H-1 NMR and mass spectral data. These compounds were subjected to their antibacterial screening against S. aureus, B. subtilis, E.coli and S. species and some of the compounds have shown activity comparable to standard. These compounds were also subjected to antifungal screening against A. niger and C. albicans. Some of these compounds have displayed appreciable antifungal activity.en_US
