Studies were under taken on Aspergillus terreus to evaluate their ability to produce L-asparaginase-an antitumor agent through plate assay method. In the present study A. terreus KLS2 exhibited maximum zone. The isolates which exhibited max zones were employed for solid state fermentation for L-asparaginase production. The values obtained by plate assay method indicated positive correlation between zone of diameter and L-asparaginase production and reveals that plate assay method can be used for rapid screening of L-asparaginase producers. © Global Science Publications.en_US
