A series of title compounds were synthesized via a one pot, multicomponent reaction of 2,5-disubstituted indole 3-carboxaldehydes, 3-cyanoacetyl indoles, and ammonium acetate under microwave irradiation and conventional method in a short time to afford the corresponding products in high yields. It is an ideal, efficient, and environmental benign reaction. The structures of products thus obtained are confirmed by their melting point, IR, (HNMR)-H-1, and mass spectral data.en_US
