Abstract: | The dielectric constant, dielectric loss, as conductivity and quality factors is studied for the polymer composite films of PMMA with MnO2 at different weight percentages as a function of frequency over the range of 50 Hz to 5 MHz at room temperature. The dielectric constant of the composite films of PMMA with MnO2 decreases exponentially in the lower frequency range of 50Hz to 350Hz and after words it decreases gradually and then remains constant as the frequency increases. It is observed that as the weight percent of MnO2 increases the dielectric constant decreases for the composite films. Further, the dielectric loss of the polymer composite films also decreases as frequency increases in the range of 50Hz to 600Hz and beyond this frequency range the dielectric loss remains constant. It is observed that as the weight percent of MnO2 increases the dielectric loss increases for the composite films. The A C conductivity of the composite films of PMMA with MnO2 remains constant up to the frequency 3 MHz and then increases nonlinearly with frequency and gives a maximum conductivity at frequency 4 MHz. It is found that as weight percent of MnO2 with PMMA increases the AC conductivity also increases. The impedance of the composite films of PMMA polymer decreases exponentially at lower frequency region and then it remains constant as frequency increases. The peak value of the quality factor shifts slightly towards the higher frequency as weight percent of MnO2 increases in the composite film. © 2018 Author(s). |
