dc.description.abstract | Albizzia lebbeck Benth (Family Mimoseaceae) is used traditionally in Indian Systemof Medicine for various ailments. Present study aim at the gastroprotective effect ofethylacetate and saponin fraction of A lebbeck bark which were administered orally aspretreatment for ethanol (EtOH), cold-restraint stress (CRS) and pylorus ligation (PL)induced ulcers. Estimation of gastric secretion parameters like volume of gastric juice, acid output, and pH value were estimated in PL induced ulcer model. The results of ourstudy revealed that A lebbeck bark ethylacetate extract showed dose-dependent ulcerprotective effect on peptic ulcers induced by physical and chemical agents in rodents. © 2013 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
