Abstract: Oxozirconium(IV) complexes were prepared by treating zirconyl chloride with thiocarbohydrazone in an anhydrous methanol medium. The complexes are yellow in colour. The elemental analyses indicate that these complexes conform to a 1:2 stoichiometry of the type ZrO(LH)2 where LH represents a singly deprotonated ligand. IR and proton magnetic resonance spectral studies suggest that these complexes have a coordination number of 5. © 1985.
