Synthesis and spectral studies of oxozirconium(IV) complexes with thiocarbohydrazones

Abstract

Oxozirconium(IV) complexes were prepared by treating zirconyl chloride with thiocarbohydrazone in an anhydrous methanol medium. The complexes are yellow in colour. The elemental analyses indicate that these complexes conform to a 1:2 stoichiometry of the type ZrO(LH)2 where LH represents a singly deprotonated ligand. IR and proton magnetic resonance spectral studies suggest that these complexes have a coordination number of 5. © 1985.
