dc.description.abstract1,8-Bis (4-amino 5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl) octane (1) on reacting with hydrazine hydrate/chloroacetic acid and sodium acetate/benzoin and alcoholic potassium hydroxide/various substituted benzoic acids and phosphorous oxy chloride/isothiocyanates and EDAC afforded 1,8-bis (4-amino 5-hydrazino-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl) octane (II), 1,8-bis (1,2,4-triazol [4,5-b] thiadiazine 6[7H] one 3-yl) octane (III), 1,8- bis (1,2,4-triazol [4,5-b] thiadiazol-6-[5H] thion-3-yl) octane (V), 1,8-bis (1,2,4-triazol 6-aryl substituted [4,5-b]-1,3,4-thiadiazol-3-yl) octanes (Vla-f) and 1,8-bis (6-arylamino 1,2,4-triazol [4,5-b] 1,3,4-thiadiazol-3-yl) octanes (Vlla-b) respectively. The structure of the newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by IR, NMR 'and elemental analysis.en_US
