Abstract: Demand for fresh water is on a constant increase due to population growth, advanced agricultural practices and industrial usages. The study attempts to evaluate physico-chemical properties of Bheema river at Gulbarga covering different stations during June 1996 to May. The study reveals that at certain location the water was not suitable for the domestic irrigation and other purposes making it essential to devise suitable strategies so as to protect the river from the pollution.
