The effect of- heavy metals such as Copper (Cu), Cadmium (Cd), and Chromium (Cr) on active transport of Sodium (Na+) and Potassium Cyanobacteria Hapalosiphon stuhlmannii hieron and Spirulina subsala 40308 has been studied. The results indicated that low concentrations of heavy metals enhanced the Na+ and K+ contents in H. stuhlmannii, while low contents of Na+ and K+ was noticed in Cd at 5.0 ppm (Na+ =14% and K+=03%) and Cr at 5.0 ppm (K+=0.6%). It was noted that all the concentrations of Cu and Cd enhanced the Na+ and K+ contents in S. subsala and the lower concentrations of Ni and Cr promoted intake of Na+ and K+; higher concentrations gradually reduced the levels of Na+ and K+. © Global Science Publications.en_US
