Conventional ceramic preparation technique was used to synthesize Ba(Nb0.15Zr0.85)O-3 (BNZ) and 0.9Ba(Nb0.15Zr0.85)O-3 + 0.1BaTiO(3) (BNZ + BT) samples. X-ray diffraction data revealed tetragonal crystal symmetry. Sintered pellets were investigated for dielectric and AC conductivity as a function of temperature and frequency. Dielectric properties of BNZ revealed a normal ferroelectric behaviour and BNZ + BT exhibited diffused phase transition. Curie temperatures obtained from dielectric measurements for BNZ and BNZ + BT were 295 K and 285 K respectively. AC conductivity of BNZ + BT is due to electron hopping and thermally activated Debye relaxation. Temperature dependant hysteresis measurements were also carried out. Hysteresis loops confirms the dielectric and ac conductivity behaviour of BNZ and BNZ + BT ceramics.en_US
