In this paper, design and analysis of compact patch antenna is studied and fabricated on FR 4 dielectric material. This antenna is suitable for various applications such as WiMax, RADAR, fixed satellite services, WLAN, satellite communication covering S-band frequency. The experimental results show that the proposed antenna achieved a compactness of 78 % with a bandwidth of 170 MHz (VSWR < 1.5:1) and moderate gain of 2 dB, realizing omni directional radiation patterns across the whole operating frequency band. © 2012 ISRAMT.en_US
