Abstract: The birth and death process in the population are usually assumed to be independent of the disease status, however, the survival and reproduction of a host can be affected by an infectious disease. One way of protecting the newborns and susceptible population from disease is the reduction of number of susceptible individuals through immunizations (by means of vaccinations). Hence in the present paper, we considered the epidemic model of the intermediate classes (SEIR) with Initial Preventive Measure. We have formulated both deterministic and stochastic versions of the model. The model is analyzed with the help of basic reproductive rate (R-0) and compared it with that in the absence of initial preventive measure. We have also shown that the Kolmogorov differential difference equations in the model can be solved mathematically by applying the method proposed by Billard (1974).
