Abstract: Chloroform, ethanol and water extracts of Sterculia foetida defatted seed cake were investigated for anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antimicrobial activities. A significant reduction in paw edema was seen with all the tested extracts against carrageenan-induced edema, the extracts inhibited both the phases of carrageenan-induced edema. Significant thermal nociceptive activity was seen with both ethanol and water extracts of S. foetida seed cake. A varying degree of antibacterial and antifungal activity was observed with chloroform extract, while ethanol extract comparatively had less antibacterial and antifungal activity.
