dc.description.abstract2-Benzylthiopyrimidinyl-4-pyrazolones (3a-i) were synthesized efficiently in a single step by reacting 4-hydrazino-2-benzylthiopyrimidine (1) with ethyl-2-arylhydrazono-3-oxobutyrates (2a-i) in gl acetic acid in 52-77% yield. All the synthesized compounds have been characterized by spectral data and screened for their antimicrobial activity.en_US
