dc.description.abstractAn ethnobotanical survey of Bellary district, comprising seven taluks was conducted during March 2011 to May 2012. The indigenous knowledge of local traditional healers and the native plants used for the treatment of jaundice were collected through questionnaire and personal interviews. Twenty four species of folk drug plants belonging to 23 genera and 19 families were found to be used as a remedy for jaundice by the tribal and rural people in the district. The scientific name, family and local names of these plants along with their parts used and method of preparation is provided.en_US
