Abstract: This study deals with an unsteady magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer flow of a nanoliquid past a permeable stretching sheet immersed in a porous medium. The heat and mass transfer characteristic of a significant Cu-water and Ag-water nanoliquids have studied. The set of basic governing partial differential equations reduced into ordinary differential equations with the aid of similarity variables. The ordinary differential equations are solved analytically using a perturbation technique. The effect of various parameters: the Prandtl number, Grashoff number, nanoparticle volume fraction, thermal radiation, magnetic effect and stretching parameter on the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles presented through graphs and tables. The result shows that Ag-water nanoliquid has higher heat transfer rate compared with the Cu-water nanoliquid. The friction factor, Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are increases with increasing the values of Prandtl number and nanoparticle volume fraction. © 2017 by American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
