Abstract: Present work reports the magneto-hydrodynamic squeezing flow of Casson fluid between two parallel plates subjected to viscous and Joule dissipation effects with homogeneous first order chemical reaction. To differentiate the non-Newtonian squeezing flow behavior of the Casson fluid with Newtonian fluids a well-established rheological Casson fluid flow model is considered in this study. The nonlinear, coupled partial differential equations governing the Casson fluid squeezing flow in terms of velocity, temperature and concentration with appropriate boundary conditions are converted into ordinary differential equations by using similarity transformations. The numerical solution of these reduced non-dimensional governing flow field equations in terms of velocity, temperature, concentration, skin-friction, heat transport and mass transport rates are obtained by using standard shooting technique. However, to demonstrate the effect of the flow variables on non-dimensional concentration, temperature and velocity flow profiles, numerical results are described in both graphical and tabular form. From the obtained numerical data it is observed that, temperature and velocity fields are suppressed for the increasing values of squeezing parameter. Also, temperature field decreases with increasing values of Hartmann number. Present numerical solutions are compared with previous results available in the literature and found to be good agreement. © 2019 by American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
