Abstract: In wireless communication systems, there are many small portable devices. When the device size reduces, automatically the size of the antenna also reduces. Hence the size of the antenna is also an important parameter taken into consideration, to place in the device. In such a case the printed antenna is the one, which meets the requirements. The antenna looks very simple and easily mounted inside the device. A new ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna has been designed for wide band applications. This antenna is planned for operation within the bandwidth of 7.5GHz from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz. The purpose of this design is to maintain broad bandwidth with enhanced gain & maintaining VSWR ? 2. Furthermore, antenna characteristics are also investigated by using Ansys HFSS. © 2018 Author(s).
